Training and Programs
Uplift Northwest is committed to helping people along the path to self-sufficiency. This means more than just providing jobs, but connecting them to resources that will enhance their workplace performance and allow for greater quality of life. Through a wide range of training and support services, individuals are prepared to achieve their long-term employment goals.
The goal of the STEP Program is to assist workers navigating to a living-wage career path through employment, job-readiness training, workshops, and support services.
Individuals who have expressed a desire for full-time employment and have displayed the motivation and work ethic to succeed in that goal are referred into the STEP Program by a Staff member at Uplift Northwest.
Digital Literacy
Digital literacy means having the skills you need to live, learn, and work in a society where communication and access to information are increasingly through digital technologies like internet platforms, social media, and mobile devices. The Digital Literacy class at uplift Northwest provides personalized training for basic computer and cell phone skills.
Uplift Northwest’s Eye Clinic, sponsored by Walman Optical, provides those in need with an overlooked essential: glasses. Whether it’s being able to see on the job or read the route number on a bus, sight is instrumental to workplace success.
Support Services
In addition to job training, Uplift Northwest cares for the whole person. This means partnering with many community resources to help workers achieve personal stability.
